The Skin Scoop: Vol. 1

I thought I’d try something new on the blog since I am interested in skincare and all the incredible products out there. I often get asked about the products I use and other skin-tips I’ve researched. I know I am not a dermatologist, esthetician or expert, but so these reviews are purely my own opinion and they are in no way influenced by anyone.

fullsizeoutput_28a9Skin Scoop – Volume 1:  Philosophy’s Renewed Hope In a Jar Overnight Recharge & Refining Moisturizer

A lot of what I am doing for my skin is to maintain a healthy and as natural as possible complexion as I possibly can. Along with that, focusing on some preventative care has become a focus also.

I perused into Sephora with no real intention of buying anything, but the associate saw me eyeing the Philosophy brand and asked me if I wanted to sample anything specific. I had been on the hunt for a light but hydrating night creme, so I asked if she could suggest anything. She instantly went to this product, at first glance the texture looked thick but as she smoothed it over my hand it was quite the opposite.

I am always hesitant to buy full-size products right off the bat just because you never know how it may sit with your skin after a few uses. Thankfully, I was able to get a sample from Sephora of this moisturizer. I was pleasantly surprised to see that after two nights of use, I would wake up to soft and supple skin, opposed to waking up to dull and dehydrated winter skin.  I’ve now been using the moisturizer since March and have had no breakouts or negative reactions from it.

Since using this recharge and refining moisturizer, I have seen a reduction in size of my  pores along with my overall complexion. I notice my skin is more hydrated and bright. My skin can immediately notice the difference when I don’t use this specific moisturizer.

In the evening after I have cleansed, toned, and used my night serum, I seal everything in with this moisturizer on top. After watching an abundance of YouTube videos, I learned how to properly massage product into my skin and it honestly, feels so good. I then like to use my Jade Roller to relax before bedtime!
